Requires restitution for minor children of victims of driving under the influence fatalities.

This bill amends Hawaii law to mandate that if a defendant is convicted of driving under the influence and the violation caused the death of a parent or legal guardian of a minor child, the sentencing court must order the defendant to provide financial support to the surviving child until the child reaches 18 or 19 if still in high school. The court considers various factors in determining the amount of support, including the child's financial needs and the standard of living to which the child is accustomed.
