This bill amends Hawaii Revised Statutes to add the chairperson of the Hawaiian homes commission, or their designee, to the commission on water resource management. The chairperson will serve as an ex officio voting member, similar to the director of the board of land and natural resources. The director of health, or their designee, will also serve as an ex officio voting member. The bill specifies that members shall be appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate, with at least one member having expertise in traditional Hawaiian water resource management techniques.
