Hawaii SB161 amends Chapter 46 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to exempt state projects from county building permit, inspection, and certificate of occupancy requirements when compliant with applicable building codes or county, national, or international prescriptive construction standards. State agencies responsible for such projects are prohibited from applying for county building permits. Counties must accept the dedication of these state projects. The Act does not affect rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that matured before its effective date.
