Waives tuition and fees for resident students in state-approved teacher education programs at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The bill amends Hawaii Revised Statutes to require the board of regents to grant a tuition waiver for resident students enrolled in the college of education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. This waiver applies to the semester or term when the student completes the student teaching requirement necessary for a degree in education. The waiver covers all tuition and mandatory fees, provided the student is enrolled as a full-time student in good academic standing. The university must adopt rules to implement this waiver.
