Establishes a stipend program for teachers in rural or underserved areas to support housing costs.

The bill creates a teacher workforce housing stipend program to help retain teachers in rural or underserved areas. Eligible teachers must be employed full-time by the Department of Education and not own a residence within commuting distance. Recipients will receive $1,000 per month for rent, mortgage, or utilities. Recipients must commit to teaching in a rural or underserved area for at least three years or repay the stipend. The Department of Education will submit a report to the legislature every odd-year starting in 2027.
