Allows businesses to use a registered email address for service of process instead of a registered agent.

This bill permits businesses to designate a registered email address to accept service of process instead of maintaining a registered agent in Hawaii. Corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and limited partnerships can all use a registered email address for this purpose. The email address must be registered with the department director and capable of sending and receiving graphic copies of documents. This change does not affect other permitted methods of service. The bill amends several chapters of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to include these provisions.
