Allows counties to petition for land redistricting from agricultural to rural districts.
This bill allows counties to petition the land use commission to redistrict land from agricultural to rural districts. The land must be developed for single-family residences, subdivided into lots no larger than one acre, and part of an existing agricultural use. The land use commission will process petitions from county councils and may deny petitions if there is insufficient evidence or significant public trust issues. The act takes effect July 1, 2026, and is repealed June 30, 2029.
