Allows residents of public housing to keep pets with certain conditions.

This bill amends Hawaii Revised Statutes to allow residents of public housing projects to keep one or more pet animals in their units, subject to applicable laws and reasonable conditions. The Hawaii public housing authority may charge a refundable deposit for each pet but cannot impose a monthly pet fee or rent. Conditions may include policies on nuisance behaviors, leash requirements, insurance coverage, and limits on the number of pets based on unit size. The bill also appropriates funds for two full-time positions to enforce this Act and maintain state public housing properties.
