Hawaii SB10 establishes reusable air filters as the new standard, prohibiting disposable air filters starting January 1, 2030.

Hawaii SB10 amends Chapter 196 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to set reusable air filters as the new standard for all air filters sold, offered for sale, distributed for sale, or used in the state. The bill defines "disposable air filter" as a filter intended for single use and "reusable air filter" as a washable filter that can be reused. Effective January 1, 2030, it will be unlawful to sell, offer for sale, distribute for sale, or use any disposable air filter in the state.
