Requesting a working group to coordinate capital improvement planning between the Department of Transportation and the Department of Hawaiian Home.

The bill requests the Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, to convene a working group to coordinate capital improvement planning. The working group will review and compare planned capital improvement projects, identify overlaps, evaluate opportunities to reduce duplicative costs, assess potential cost savings, develop a standardized coordination process, identify barriers to coordinated execution, and recommend necessary changes. The working group will submit a report to the Legislature by June 30, 2027.
