Hawaii HB898 amends the state's motor vehicle registration laws to allow owners of specific former military vehicles to register them. Eligible vehicles include the Pinzgauer, Kaiser Jeep M715, Humvee, and DUKW. These vehicles can be used for personal transport, including to and from the owner's place of business, but cannot be used for hire, carry more than 500 pounds of non-trailer weight, or tow trailers. The bill defines "former military vehicle" as those at least 25 years old and includes them in the definition of "special interest vehicle.
