Requires courts to order restitution for minor children of victims of DUI causing death.

This bill amends Hawaii law to require courts to order restitution for the financial support of minor children when a defendant is convicted of DUI causing the death of a parent or legal guardian. The court must consider factors such as the child's financial needs, the surviving parent's resources, and the child's standard of living. Payments are made to the clerk of the court as trustee for remittance to the surviving parent or legal guardian. The restitution continues until the child reaches 18 or 19 if still in high school.
