Hawaii HB628 extends the authority of the Department of Education to award high school diplomas to veterans who did not receive one due to compulsory or voluntary induction into the armed services, as well as to those whose education was interrupted by wartime practices during World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War. This bill builds on previous legislation, Act 124, Session Laws of Hawaii 2015, which authorized such awards until June 30, 2020. Eligible applicants must submit required information to the Department of Education.
