Hawaii HB569 amends Chapter 302A of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to require the Department of Education to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to offer Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), Law Enforcement Explorers Programs (L.E.E.P.), and Police Activities Leagues (P.A.L.) in all schools. Each school with a resource officer will have that officer serve as the liaison for these programs. The Act also mandates the adoption of rules to implement these provisions, effective July 1, 2025.
