It requires any candidate, candidate committee, or noncandidate committee that receives more than the applicable contribution limit to return any excess contribution to the contributor within thirty days. For contributions exceeding limits set in certain sections, the return must occur within thirty days of receipt of the excess. For contributions exceeding limits set in another section, the return must occur within thirty days of the end of the election period.
