The bill establishes the Onipa a Teacher Bonus Program, which provides bonuses to licensed and certified teachers in Hawaii who practice in the state for an extended period. The program includes the "Ola Professional Performance" bonus for teachers with at least two years of practice, up to $2,500, and the "Ola Loa Longevity" bonus for teachers with at least five years of practice, up to $5,000, awarded every five years. The Department of Education will administer the program, maintain records, and share aggregate data.
