Establishes an automated speed enforcement systems program special fund for fines collected from speed violations.
This bill amends Hawaii Revised Statutes to establish an automated speed enforcement systems program special fund. Fines collected from speed violations will be deposited into this fund, which will be used for the establishment, implementation, operation, oversight, management, maintenance, and repair of an automated speed enforcement system. Any unencumbered and unexpended moneys in excess of $12,000,000 at the end of each fiscal year will lapse to the credit of the state general fund.
