Extends nepotism prohibitions to legislative and judicial branch employees.

This bill amends Hawaii Revised Statutes to extend existing nepotism prohibitions to employees of the legislative and judicial branches. It prohibits legislators and employees from hiring, promoting, or retaining relatives or household members in their employing agencies. Exceptions are made for physical impairments requiring the employment of a relative and for situations where the legislator or employee discloses the prospective employment to the state ethics commission. The bill also allows the state ethics commission to grant exceptions for good cause.
