Establishes the lelo Hawai'i Commission to promote the teaching and learning of the Hawaiian language.

The bill establishes the lelo Hawai'i Commission to coordinate efforts by the State, office, and counties to promote the teaching and learning of lelo Hawai'i, the indigenous language of Hawai'i. The commission will encourage speaking of the language through campaigns, support organizations in developing language plans, conduct research for language revitalization, and develop new words to reflect contemporary norms. The commission will submit an annual report to the legislature. The sum appropriated will be expended by the office of the governor for the purposes of this Act.
