Establishes penalties for property owners who fail to address zoning violations and allows foreclosure proceedings.
This bill outlines penalties for property owners who do not address zoning violations within a specified time frame. If a property owner fails to remediate a zoning violation within 91 days, they will be fined $1,000 per day. If fines exceed $20,000, the violation becomes a lien on the property. If the owner does not satisfy the lien and remediate the violation within 30 days of notice, the county planning or permitting agency must commence foreclosure proceedings. If the agency fails to act within 30 days, the attorney general must commence proceedings.
