The bill reorganizes the Hawaii tourism authority as a nonprofit destination stewardship organization. It establishes the Corporation for the Stewardship of Hawaii Tourism to guide Hawaii's visitor economy in collaboration with public, private, nonprofit, and community stakeholders. The corporation will develop a vision for tourism, a long-range strategic tourism stewardship plan, and annual strategic tourism stewardship plans. It will also create strategies to improve natural and cultural resources, manage visitation, and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture.
