Hawaii HB1395 amends the state statutes to establish one-year terms for neighborhood board members. It also allows eligible voters to participate in neighborhood board elections through both electronic and in-person means. Counties must report to the office of elections on their compliance with these provisions. The bill appropriates funds for fiscal years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 to cover compliance costs, to be managed by the city and county of Honolulu. The changes will take effect on July 1, 2025.
