Relating To Meat Donation.

Final Passage·5/8/26

Hawaii HB1334 exempts donated wild game meat from inspection requirements.

Hawaii HB1334 amends state statutes to exempt the preparation, sale, and transportation of wild game meat from inspection requirements, provided it is donated to needy persons by charitable, religious, or nonprofit organizations. The meat must not be combined with other regulated meat products and must not be transported for commercial purposes. The bill preserves the authority of the Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture to regulate, inspect, or ban the use of donated foods for human consumption.
