This bill amends Section 323D-54 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to exempt the Department of Health from certificate of need requirements for health care facilities and services. The changes include adding health care facilities operated or services provided by the Department of Health to the list of exemptions. The bill also repeals the statutory material that previously required the Department of Health to obtain a certificate of need. The changes will take effect upon the approval of the Act.
