Exempts the Department of Health from certificate of need requirements in Hawaii.
This bill amends Section 323d-54 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to exempt the Department of Health from certificate of need requirements. The exemption applies to health care facilities operated or services provided by the department. The bill also includes a list of other exemptions from certificate of need requirements, such as private offices of physicians, dentists, and other practitioners, laboratories, and certain capital expenditures. The changes will take effect upon approval of the Act.
