Ethics for Public Officers and Employees amends the definition of "relative" and restricts gifts for district school board members.

Ethics for Public Officers and Employees expands the definition of "relative" to include foster parents and foster children. It also prohibits district school board members and their relatives from soliciting or accepting gifts from any person, vendor, potential vendor, or other entity doing business with the school district. The term "gift" is defined as in section 112.312(12). This act takes effect July 1, 2026.
