Florida H0619 proposes to amend the state constitution to revise the reapportionment process.

Florida H0619 proposes an amendment to the State Constitution to revise reapportionment methods. It creates three independent redistricting commissions for the House of Representatives, Senate, and congressional districts. These commissions will draw district maps based on constitutional provisions. The legislature must select one map from the three submitted by a majority vote, not subject to a gubernatorial veto. If the legislature fails to adopt a joint resolution, the Supreme Court selects the most compact map from the three submitted.
