Expands the scope of services for air-conditioning and mechanical contractors in Florida.
This bill revises the definitions of "class A air-conditioning contractor" and "mechanical contractor" in Florida law. It allows these contractors to perform additional services, including replacing and repairing package pool heaters, testing and evaluating central air-conditioning systems, and installing condensate drains. The bill also specifies that these contractors can perform excavation work incidental to their tasks but excludes work on potable water lines, sanitary sewer lines, and electrical power wiring. The changes take effect on July 1, 2026.
