Introduced·hearing on 7/29/26
Introduced in Senate Text

Oregon Recreation Enhancement Act designates recreation areas and expands wilderness areas in Oregon.

The Oregon Recreation Enhancement Act designates the Rogue Canyon and Molalla areas in Oregon as recreation areas for management by the Secretary. It withdraws certain federal land in Curry and Josephine Counties, Oregon, from entry, appropriation, disposal, mining, and mineral leasing laws. The Act also expands the Wild Rogue Wilderness by adding approximately 59,512 acres of federal land. It mandates a wildfire risk assessment and mitigation plan for the recreation areas, while ensuring no new permanent or temporary roads are constructed except for public safety.
