The Disaster Management Costs Modernization Act allows the use of excess funds for disaster management costs for other disaster recovery projects.
The Disaster Management Costs Modernization Act amends the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to allow the use of excess funds for management costs for other disaster recovery projects. The President can make available to grantees or subgrantees any excess funds for management costs, which can be used for activities associated with building capacity to prepare for, recover from, or mitigate the impacts of a major disaster or emergency. Excess funds for management costs remain available to the grantee or subgrantee for five years after they are made available.
