Suspends entry of undocumented aliens to combat fentanyl crisis.
The Alan T. Shao II Fentanyl Public Health Emergency and Overdose Prevention Act suspends the entry of undocumented aliens into the United States to address the fentanyl public health crisis. The bill defines "covered alien" as someone attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S. from Canada or Mexico without proper documents and held at a port of entry. Aliens attempting to enter while the suspension is in effect will be returned to their country of origin. The Secretary of Homeland Security can transport these aliens on repatriation flights.
