The Combating Critical Infrastructure Vandalism Act of 2026 amends section 1362 of title 18, United States Code, to make it unlawful to willfully or maliciously injure, destroy, or steal copper, fiber, or coaxial cables used for telecommunications and information services. These cables must be used in or affect interstate or foreign commerce. The bill also specifies that the prohibition does not apply to customer premises equipment, which is defined as equipment physically located on a customer's property that is owned, rented, or leased by the customer.
