Ensures Medicaid covers mental health and primary care services provided on the same day.
The Improving CARE for Youth Act amends title XIX of the Social Security Act to ensure Medicaid coverage for mental health services and primary care services when they are provided to an individual on the same day. This applies to services furnished by a provider at an office, clinic, or other outpatient facility. The bill defines "same-day qualifying service" to include both mental health and primary care services provided on the same day by the same or another provider at the same facility.
