The Duster Inhalation Prevention Act aims to regulate compressed air dusters to prevent inhalant abuse. It mandates the Consumer Product Safety Commission to classify specific propellants, such as 1,1-difluoroethane and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, as hazardous substances under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Products containing more than 18 mg of these substances are banned. The Act also prohibits stockpiling of banned aerosol duster products. This legislation does not apply to drugs regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
