The CAREER Act of 2025 reauthorizes the Comprehensive Addiction Recovery through Effective Employment and Reentry Act, extending its funding through 2030. It modifies grant criteria to include the highest age-adjusted average rates of drug overdose deaths and the highest average rates of unemployment for calendar years 2018 through 2022. The bill also allows entities to use up to 5% of grant funds for transportation services to support participation in activities related to treatment or recovery from substance use disorders.
