The PREVENT Act mandates the CDC to expand its program on child sexual abuse prevention.

The PREVENT Act, or Preventing Risk and Exploitation through Validated Education and Network-based Training Act, requires the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to maintain and expand its program on child sexual abuse prevention. The program will identify gaps in research and practice, increase understanding of risk and protective factors, strengthen evidence-based policies, and develop strategies to address technology-facilitated child sexual abuse. Funding is authorized at $6,000,000 annually for fiscal years 2027 through 2031.
