The Allied Partnership and Port Modernization Act permits NATO and major non-NATO ally dredge ships to engage in dredging in U.S. navigable waters. These vessels must be documented under the laws of a NATO member country, built by a NATO member or major non-NATO ally, and majority-owned and operated by entities incorporated in a NATO member country. The Act also excludes dredged material from certain transportation requirements.
