The GROUSE Act of 2026 amends the Food Security Act of 1985 to create a program for upland species habitat restoration. The Secretary of Agriculture will provide payments to landowners who enter into contracts for restoring eligible forest land. Eligible forest land includes areas of at least 10 acres that have been commercially logged within the past 180 days, are currently being logged, will be cleared for forest management, or were affected by a major natural disaster.
