Establishes a Violent Criminal Offender Database to share records of violent crime convictions among states and the federal government.
Logan's Law creates a Violent Criminal Offender Database to be managed by the Attorney General. The database will include records of individuals convicted of violent crimes, defined as offenses punishable by imprisonment for more than 180 days and involving physical force or a substantial risk of physical force. The database will be searchable by various identifiers and made available to the public free of charge. States receiving Byrne JAG grant program funds must submit data on qualifying convictions to the Attorney General.
