LINK Act requires USDA and DOI to make their IT systems interoperable for sharing information on land management and emergency response.
The USDA–DOI Linking Information Networks for Knowledge-sharing Act, or LINK Act, mandates the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior to ensure their information technology and cybersecurity systems are interoperable. This allows for the sharing of information on federal land management activities, such as wildfire operations, and disaster and emergency preparedness and response activities. The Act requires consultation with applicable Indian Tribes and protection of Tribal data sovereignty.
