Save America’s Family Forests Act of 2026

Introduced·4/29/26

Allows full expensing of certain reforestation expenditures and modifies rules for disaster-related reforestation.

The Save America’s Family Forests Act of 2026 amends the Internal Revenue Code to increase the base expensing amount for reforestation expenditures from $10,000 to $30,000. It also introduces an inflation adjustment for these amounts starting from taxable years after 2026. The bill allows for limited full expensing of reforestation expenditures related to uncut timber damaged or destroyed by a qualified natural disaster within the five years prior to reforestation.
