The Fighter Aircrew Career Flexibility Act establishes a pilot program for experienced Air Force fighter aircrew to take career intermissions. The program allows eligible officers with 11F and 12F Air Force Specialty Code designations to take a one-time, time-limited career intermission of between 4 months and 1 year. Participants will be placed in the Individual Ready Reserve and will receive pay and allowances. The program aims to test whether targeted intermissions reduce early separations and preserve experienced fighter aircrew subject matter experts.
