The bill extends section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 for 18 months. Section 702 allows for the targeting of non-U.S. persons outside the United States to acquire foreign intelligence information. The bill also makes a conforming amendment to the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 to reflect the new expiration date of October 20, 2027.
