The Hemp Safety Enforcement Act amends the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 to allow states and Indian tribes to maintain their own laws on hemp production and sales. States and tribes can opt out of federal regulations by submitting a notice to the Secretary of Agriculture. They must implement a minimum age requirement for purchasing hemp-derived cannabinoid products. Interstate commerce of hemp products between states and tribes that opt out is allowed, provided they comply with both jurisdictions' laws.
