The Support our Firefighters Act provides rest and recuperation leave for employees engaged in wildland firefighting. It mandates that the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior prescribe policies for rest and recuperation leave, including the number of days of leave after a specified period of deployment. The leave must be used immediately after a qualifying incident and cannot be set aside for later use. Additionally, the Act waives overtime caps for wildland firefighters.
