Perinatal Workforce Act aims to grow and diversify the perinatal workforce through grants and studies.
The Perinatal Workforce Act seeks to enhance the perinatal workforce by awarding grants to schools of nursing. These grants aim to grow and diversify the workforce by providing scholarships to students pursuing careers in maternal and perinatal health, such as nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, and clinical nurse specialists. The Act also mandates the Department of Health and Human Services to issue guidance to states on respectful and culturally congruent maternity care.
