The Patient Safety and Whistleblower Protections Act establishes protections for health care practitioners who raise concerns about the quality of health care services. It prohibits health care facilities from retaliating against practitioners for communicating patient safety concerns. Retaliation includes any adverse employment action or materially adverse action that would dissuade a reasonable practitioner from raising concerns.
