The Open Books, Open Doors Act aims to expand equitable access to literacy materials and programs, especially in underserved communities, to improve.

The Open Books, Open Doors Act seeks to address literacy disparities by expanding access to developmentally-appropriate literacy materials and family engagement in reading, particularly in underserved communities. The Act establishes a Federal Clearinghouse on Book Access to identify and disseminate evidence-based strategies, programs, and interventions that improve children's access to books and literacy outcomes. It also creates an interagency working group to support implementation and report to Congress.
