Aligns Foreign Service mandatory retirement age with Social Security Full Retirement Age.
The Foreign Service Age Integration and Reform (FAIR) Act of 2026 amends the Foreign Service Act of 1980 to change the mandatory retirement age for Foreign Service personnel. It sets the retirement age at 67 or the applicable retirement age under the Social Security Act, whichever is greater. This change aims to ensure consistency between Foreign Service retirement policies and Social Security retirement age standards.
