Restores tax-exempt status for state and local bonds guaranteed by Federal home loan banks.
The Municipal Investment and Neighborhood Transformation Act, or MINT Act, amends the Internal Revenue Code to restore the tax-exempt status for state and local bonds guaranteed by a Federal home loan bank. It removes the time limitation for these bonds and updates the safety and soundness requirements set by the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. This change applies to guarantees made after the enactment of this Act.
