Extends Federal Pell Grant eligibility to certain short-term job training programs.
The JOBS Act of 2025 extends Federal Pell Grant eligibility to certain short-term job training programs. These programs must provide between 150 and 600 clock hours of instructional time over 8 to 15 weeks, offer a recognized postsecondary credential, and meet hiring requirements of potential employers. The Secretary of Education will coordinate with the Secretary of Labor to ensure data sharing related to performance indicators. The bill also reduces the minimum Federal Pell Grant from 10% to 5% of the maximum Federal Pell Grant. The changes take effect on July 1, 2025.
